One of my favorite new singers on American Idol is Didi Benami. She’s a waitress from Knoxville, TN that now lives in Hollywood.

I loved her audition at American Idol Hollywood Week when she sang Kara Dioguardi’s “Terrified”.

Her “Hey Jude” audition in LA was great too!!

I’m routing for her and hope she makes it to the top 24!

Brit Awards Critics’ Choice – Ellie Goulding

The Brit Awards Critics’ Choice prize for the act most likely to break through in 2010 next year goes to 22 year old Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding. Adele and Florence and the Machine are previous winners of the award.

Ellie Goulding said: “I didn’t believe it at first but now that it’s sunk in I am delighted and utterly honoured to have been given this award. I couldn’t be more happy and thankful to everyone right now.”

She will perform at the Brit Awards nomination launch on January 18th. Runners up are Indie-electronica band Delphic and Marina and the Diamonds. Listen to the music of the 15 acts nominated for the British Critics Choice prize.

Alicia Keys and Jay-Z Empire State of Mind

Alicia Keys gave her World’s AIDS Day concert from NYC’s Nokia Theatre on December 1, 2009.

As part of the concert she sang her version of Empire State of Mind (2) which I love….and then a surprise visitor appeared on stage…none other than Jay-Z who rapped out his original version.

What a great show! You can catch Empire State of mind on Youtube. Plus her whole concert was live-streamed on youtube – Alicia Keys 12.01.09 World AIDS Concert!
