Dear Shazzam,

I am in 7th grade. I like this boy Shane a lot. My friends say he is just
my first “crush”. But, I am a little confused about what a “crush” is?

For he likes me too. So some friends are telling me it’s “puppy love”.
But, I thought “puppy love” was when you’re younger, cause, we
do go and hangout along with going to the movies.

Is it really just a “crush”?

Dear EBB,

I can understand your frustration with the theory of “puppy love”.
By no means at you age are you in “puppy love”.

You are past that stage.  Labeling what you are with
your guy friends is just a “label”.

Look beyond the words of peers and family. And, just enjoy
the time you have together. Then you will be more confident and
happy.
